Its the time of year to start making those changes you keep thinking about.
My changes this year. For one, work harder on this blog. I’ve gotten a bit off track, but its never too late to change! (maybe I’ll explain in the next post>D)
Second, compost, compost, compost. Something I’ve been slacking on.
Some things seem a little bit easier this year though. Now that my kids are 4 and 6, they are eager and willing to help. They are excited about our garden and the compost, and on how all this stuff works. Hopefully this will all be instilled in their young minds and hearts, so that they will be able to take better care of the earth then in former generations.
People are being bound together on this issue. Is this truly the Green Generation? Can we change the Earth’s course for the good?

There has never been a better excuse to eat some veggies, and eat organic!
I discovered this place called Farm Fresh to You a few days ago, and I’m convinced this is one of the best ideas I’ve seen in awhile.
Farm Fresh to You not only home delivers their produce to you, they don’t even pick it until you have ordered, and it is all local (Northern California, be sure to check your Zip Code for delivery). I also have to say that the prices are comparable, if not cheaper, then buying from the supermarket.

No doubt you are showing your significant other how much you love them today. OK I found the perfect gift for you. Maybe not green saves the world, but love sure does with these super cute tees to help your love grow…

Not only can love save the world, it makes the world go round. And you remind me every day that it grows by leaps and bounds. Sprinkle me with some water, give me the perfect light, and let our love grow with devotion and delight. Too super cute! I just had to share! From BoldLoft
I’ll stop getting mushy now. I just wanted to remind you all today, while you are out and about making love and not war, don’t forget Mother Earth. What does she get on valentines day?
You could click and give at the Rainforest Site. Look around and you might see how you can get 2 Treehugger bracelets free. Yes, you can share those with your sweetie too!
My other good idea. Take your darling out and plant a tree together. Now you can watch you love really grow. How romantic would it be if you can look at that tree years from now, seeing how its grown, and as a constant reminder of your love.
Post your green romantic ideas to share with everyone…
PEACE!

I received an email about a week ago asking me to join PG&Es Climate Smart program. I was giving it some thought until I found these posts and learned it doesn’t even support renewable power. If you are considering joining the PG&E Climate Smart program, do read these two posts :

On Tuesday, Al Gore met with President-elect Obama to talk about solving the climate crisis.
President-elect Obama said:
“…we have the opportunity now to create jobs all across this country, in all 50 states, to repower America, to redesign how we use energy, to think about how we are increasing efficiency, to make our economy stronger, make us more safe, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and make us competitive for decades to come, even as we’re saving the planet.”
See the Video HERE.

Gore has outlined a five-step plan to achieve his goal of generating 100 percent of the U.S.’s electricity from renewable sources in 10 years. Though Obama hasn’t agreed to Gore’s lofty goal, he has committed, in varying degrees, to implementing Gore’s recommendations.

President-elect Obama wants to create 5 million new “Green Energy” jobs. The sooner the better, but how? What incentive or government program will create these jobs? Which sector of green energy will be targeted for job growth? Further, and importantly as unemployment rises, how soon will these new jobs appear in the help wanted section?
The economy needs jobs as soon as possible. If Obama wants to use green energy as an engine of growth, how can he jump start it to get it running?

The next president of the USA will be Barack Obama and we thought that it would be great to review what the former Senator will do for the environment and whether he will encourage greener technologies. During his campaign, Obama said that the energy and environmental policy will change dramatically under his administration even if the economical crisis will continue.
